Bio:

Dr. Parikh was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to Delaware before high school. After graduating from Newark High School, he attended the University of Delaware where he majored in Biology and Liberal Studies and graduated with an Advanced Honors Certificate. He then matriculated to Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and also completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Upon graduating from residency, Dr. Parikh returned to Chattanooga with his wife. While in Chattanooga he had many unique opportunities including being a medical director at a small community hospital, starting a new Emergency Medicine residency program from scratch where he was the Associate Program Director, and then becoming the medical director of a mid-volume community hospital. He is also a graduate of the ACEP Teaching Fellowship. After 8 years in Tennessee, Dr. Parikh moved back to the area in 2013 to join DFES as a full-time clinical physician. He works at Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, and the Middletown Emergency Department. His clinical interests are patient satisfaction, clinical toxicology, community/free-standing emergency medicine, and accelerated chest pain evaluation protocols. He lives with his wife and two children in southeastern Pennsylvania. In his free time he is a vintner, a dawning marine aquarist, and a gardener. His real passion, however, is travel and he makes a point to try and at least make one international trip and one domestic trip annually with his family. He has visited over 20 countries and 28 states.  Working for DFES allows him the flexibility to focus on his career, his family, as well as his interests.
