Bio:
Dr. Hess grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2005 and subsequently earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2009. Dr. Hess trained at Christiana Care in the combined emergency medicine/internal medicine (EM/IM) residency program. He has spent time living and working in several countries in southern Africa including eSwatini (Swaziland), Zambia and Botswana. He currently serves as the associate program director for the EM/IM residency program at ChristianaCare and as the director of simulation education for the IM residency program. He holds a volunteer faculty position as a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine and medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Hess lives in Wilmington with his wife and children and enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his family and home improvement projects.
