Leila Getto

Dr. Getto is from Moorestown, NJ and graduated with a BS in Nutrition Science from Penn State, University Park. After working for one year as a research assistant, she began her medical training at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Getto moved to Delaware in 2005 to complete her EM residency training at Christiana, where she served as a chief resident. Upon graduation from residency in 2008, Dr. Getto joined DFES as a clinical faculty member. In 2010, she became an academic faculty member, with a focus on the residency’s simulation curriculum. Since 2018, Dr. Getto has served as an Associate Program Director for the EM residency program.
In her free time, Dr. Getto enjoys running and cycling. She has recently completed several Sprint Triathalons. In the summer, she spends time with family and friends at the Jersey shore. She has been married for almost 20 years to her husband Jay, who is a PSU football fanatic, and they have 2 wonderful boys who keep them busy with their multiple sports activities.
