Dr. Getto was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, graduating from Moorestown High School in South Jersey. She attended The Pennsylvania State University where she was a Schreyer Honors scholar and majored in Nutrition Science. In the year after graduating from college, she backpacked through Europe for a month with friends and subsequently worked as a research assistant at Drexel while applying to medical school. After attending Jefferson Medical College (Sidney Kimmel Medical College) in Philadelphia, she completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Christiana Care, serving as chief resident. She has been with DFES since the completion of her training in 2008. In 2010, she became an Academic Faculty member and is currently the Director of Emergency Simulation for the residency program.
When not in the Emergency Department, Dr. Getto enjoys running, spending weekends at the Jersey shore, traveling and spending time with her family (3 year old and 1 year old sons, husband and dog).
