Will Paynter

Will Paynter graduated from the US Army Physician Assistant Training Program in 1992 with a BS degree from the University of Oklahoma. In 1997, he earned a Master Degree in Family Medicine from the University of Nebraska. Medical Specialty training while in the military includes the Combat Casualty Care Course, Medical Intelligence Provider Course, US Army Rotary Wing Flight Surgeon Course and the Military Tropical Medicine Course.

During his 20-year career in the US Army, Will served on a variety of deployments to North Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America and to the Middle East. When not deployed, Will provided primary and emergent care to soldiers and their family members in three of the largest military medical centers in the United States.

After retiring from the US Army, he worked 2 years as the Academic Director of the PA Program at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. Will came to DFES in June of 1990. He is the Coordinator for the Emergency Medicine PA Intern Program and he has also served as an author and senior editor for numerous editions the EMRA Antibiotic Manual. Will has served on multiple department committees and is currently an Assistant Professor for the Hahnemann PA Program at Drexel University.
